These Terms and Conditions govern the purchase and use of online courses and related learning services provided through OCTET360 Academy.

By purchasing a course, creating an Academy account or accessing our learning content, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

Please read them carefully before making a purchase.

OCTET360 Academy provides professional education and training as part of OCTET360.

Our courses are designed to provide practical learning in areas including responsible business, green claims, responsible AI, supply chain readiness, sustainability and circularity.

2. About our courses

Course descriptions provide information about the subject, intended audience, learning objectives, approximate duration, assessment requirements and other relevant features of each course.

We aim to ensure that course descriptions are accurate and sufficiently detailed to allow you to make an informed purchasing decision.

Individual course content, duration, assessment requirements and certificate requirements may vary. Please review the relevant course information before purchasing.

3. Professional education

OCTET360 Academy courses are provided for professional education and awareness purposes.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, course content does not constitute legal, financial, regulatory or other professional advice.

Our courses are intended to help learners understand relevant concepts, frameworks, requirements and good practice. Organisations and individuals remain responsible for determining how information applies to their particular circumstances and for obtaining appropriate professional advice where required.

4. Creating an account

You may need to create an OCTET360 Academy account to purchase, access or complete a course.

You must not share your account or login credentials with another person to allow them to access course content that they have not purchased or been authorised to access.

5. Purchasing a course

Prices are displayed before purchase.

Any applicable taxes will be displayed or handled as appropriate during the purchase process.

Your order is subject to acceptance by OCTET360. Once payment has been successfully processed and your order accepted, you will normally receive access to the relevant course through your OCTET360 Academy account.

We may use third party payment providers to process payments.

6. Digital course access

OCTET360 Academy courses are digital content provided online.

Course access normally begins once your payment has been successfully processed and the course has been made available through your account.

You will need a suitable internet connection, device and browser to access the Academy.

Unless otherwise stated on the course page, purchasing a course gives you a personal, non transferable right to access and use the course for your own learning.

7. Cancellation rights and immediate access

Consumers purchasing digital content online may normally have a 14 day cancellation period. However, special rules apply where digital content is supplied during that period.

Where you request immediate access to digital course content, we may ask you to provide your express consent for supply of the digital content to begin immediately and to acknowledge that you will lose your statutory right to cancel once supply of the digital content begins.

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, the right to cancel digital content within the normal cancellation period is lost only where supply has begun after the consumer has provided the required express consent and acknowledgement.

Your statutory rights are not affected by these Terms and Conditions.

8. Refunds

Refund requests are handled in accordance with our Refund & Returns Policy and applicable consumer law.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions or our Refund & Returns Policy limits any statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Digital content supplied to consumers must meet statutory requirements including being of satisfactory quality, fit for applicable purposes and as described. These statutory protections cannot simply be excluded by contractual terms.

9. Course assessments

Some OCTET360 Academy courses include assessments.

The applicable course page or course materials will explain the assessment requirements and any required pass mark.

For courses requiring successful completion of an assessment, a certificate may only be issued once the relevant completion requirements have been met.

Learners must complete assessments themselves unless a course expressly provides otherwise.

Attempting to manipulate assessment results, obtain answers improperly or have another person complete an assessment on your behalf may result in the assessment or certificate being invalidated.

10. Certificates

Where a course includes a certificate, certificates are issued to learners who satisfy the stated completion requirements.

Certificates confirm completion of the relevant OCTET360 Academy course. They do not represent a professional qualification, licence or regulatory approval unless expressly stated otherwise.

Where a course provides CPD hours, these represent the approximate learning time associated with completing the course.

A course will only be described as independently accredited where the relevant accreditation has actually been obtained.

OCTET360 may take reasonable steps to verify the authenticity of certificates issued through the Academy.

11. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, course materials and Academy content are owned by, or licensed to, OCTET360 and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

13. OCTET360 intellectual property and trade marks

OCTET360 names, branding, course names, frameworks and other proprietary materials may be protected by copyright, trade mark or other intellectual property rights.

The use of the ™ symbol identifies terms that OCTET360 claims as trade marks. It does not necessarily mean that a trade mark has been formally registered.

You must not represent yourself or your organisation as being affiliated with, approved by or endorsed by OCTET360 solely because you have completed an Academy course.

14. Availability of the Academy

We aim to keep OCTET360 Academy available and functioning reliably.

However, access may occasionally be interrupted because of maintenance, updates, technical problems, hosting issues, security requirements or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Where reasonably possible, we will seek to minimise significant disruption.

15. Changes to courses

We may update course materials from time to time to improve content, maintain accuracy, reflect changes in good practice or respond to legal, regulatory, technological or industry developments.

We will not make changes that unfairly deprive a consumer of material course content they have already purchased.

Consumer contract terms must be fair and transparent, and terms that create a significant imbalance in favour of a business may be unenforceable.

We take reasonable care when developing OCTET360 Academy content.

However, laws, regulations, standards, guidance and industry practices can change.

Course content represents information available and considered appropriate when the relevant material was prepared or updated.

Learners should check current requirements and obtain appropriate professional advice before making decisions where legal, regulatory, financial or other significant consequences may arise.

Courses or Academy pages may contain references or links to third party websites, publications, standards, guidance or other resources.

Such references are provided for educational or informational purposes.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, OCTET360 does not control third party resources and is not responsible for their continued availability or subsequent changes to their content.

18. Acceptable use

You must not use OCTET360 Academy:

Serious or repeated misuse may result in suspension or termination of access where reasonable and lawful.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

In particular, these Terms do not exclude or restrict statutory consumer rights relating to digital content or any other rights that cannot legally be excluded.

To the extent permitted by law, OCTET360 is not responsible for losses resulting solely from a learner’s decision to apply general educational information without considering their own circumstances or obtaining appropriate professional advice where necessary.

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, how it may be shared, how long it may be retained and the rights available to individuals.

21. Suspension or termination of access

We may suspend or terminate access to OCTET360 Academy where reasonably necessary because of serious misuse, fraud, security concerns, intellectual property infringement or a material breach of these Terms and Conditions.

Where appropriate, we will consider the nature and seriousness of the issue before taking action.

Any suspension or termination will not affect statutory rights that cannot lawfully be restricted.

22. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions to reflect changes to our services, technology, business practices or applicable requirements.

The version applicable to a purchase will normally be the version in effect when the relevant contract was entered into, except where a subsequent change is required by law or is expressly agreed.

The latest version will be published on the OCTET360 Academy website.

23. Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the applicable laws of the United Kingdom, subject to any mandatory rights available to consumers based on where they live.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to deprive a consumer of mandatory protections available under applicable law.
